Lone Star Wind Orchestra presents Joyful and Triumphant: A Holiday Concert

The Lone Star Wind Orchestra Youth Winds starts the 2013-2014 concert season with a holiday program titled "Joyful and Triumphant." The Youth Winds will be conducted by Richardson Independent School District Fine Arts Director Brian Britt and will share the stage with the J.J. Pearce High School Wind Ensemble under the direction of Greg Hames.

The program includes John Mackey's ''Kingfisher's Catch Fire,'' Norman Dello Joio's ''Variants on a Medieval Tune,'' Leroy Anderson's ''Sleigh Ride'' and the finale to Vittorio Giannini's Symphony No. 3. Along with J.J. Pearce High School Wind Ensemble's program, which includes Frank Ticheli's ''San Antonio Dances'' and Leroy Anderson's ''A Christmas Festival,'' the concert will also feature Christmas selections including a sing-along.
