As part of Alicia Eggert's current exhibition, “Partial Visibility,” The MAC will present a special performance organized by the artist. This one-night engagement includes an artist talk and dance performance that Eggert is coordinating with Denton-based dancer and choreographer, Rebecca Lopez.

Dancers from all over Dallas-Fort Worth have been invited to interpret and perform a stanza from Maya Angelou's poem, "Still I Rise," in Morse code. The performers will use tap, step, and other rhythmic dance movements to both respond to and communicate the text.

The performance will take place in the gallery in the company of Above and Beyond, a large-scale steel sculpture that takes the form of a staircase constructed of the words “Rise” and “Tread,” which Eggert made in collaboration with Joshua Williams.
