Martsolf Lively Contemporary presents "Sustainable Inspiration" opening reception

Martsolf Lively Contemporary will present “Sustainable Inspiration,” featuring the artwork of Melissa Ellis and the fashion and jewelry of Paulette Martsolf.

The word “sustainable” is often defined as “relating to, or being a method of harvesting or using a resource so that the resource is not depleted or permanently damaged”.  One does not usually find “sustainable” used in the context to describe art and fashion. Why? Because both disciplines are generally considered very fluid and dynamic. In fact, an argument could be made that both art and fashion are very whimsical and constantly changing to adapt to the everchanging cultural mores. However, there is some art and fashion that is so inspired that it stands the test of time. It will be as relevant ten years from now as it is today. The artwork of Melissa Ellis and the jewelry and fashion of Paulette Martsolf pass this litmus test.

Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on view through October 28.
