Award-winning playwright Matt Lyle returns to Dallas not only as one of its most decorated writers but also as the newest Partner and Resident Artist of Fun House Theatre and Film.

His first undertaking is House Party, developing a Second City-style sketch show series featuring 15 of Fun House’s most gifted young comedic actors as his troupe. Written and directed by Lyle, a graduate of Second City’s sketch writing program, Matt Lyle’s House Party will be a regular offering of Fun House, with the first holiday edition hitting the stage just in time for some merry making this December.

Matt Lyle’s House Party, Holiday Edition: Adulthood, Or How I Learned to Love Ken Burns explores the challenges, travails and joys of being an adult against the backdrop of the holiday season and one joke at a time. In this hour-long sketch show, the Fun House gang sets their sights on marriage, parenting, love, responsibility and office politics, and attempt to answer the question “What does it mean to be a grown up?”
