The Meadows Museum at Southern Methodist University will mark the Columbus Day weekend with a free Discover Spain! Festival. Visitors of all ages can take part in a fun and engaging learning experience including live Spanish music, dance, food, films, scavenger hunts and more.
Visitors to Discover Spain! are invited to:
- Sample Spanish foods and wines
- Watch film screenings presented by the Dallas Film Society (seating is limited, advanced registration required): 3:30 pm - Blancanieves (PG-13) and 7 pm - Vicky Cristina Barcelona (PG-13)
- Listen to Spanish guitar performance at 6 and 7 pm
- Watch traditional Spanish dance performances every hour from 2 to 5 pm
- Take part in children’s art activities and gallery scavenger hunts from 2 to 6 pm
- Visit the special exhibitions Treasures from the House of Alba: 500 Years of Art and Collecting and Infanta Margarita in a Blue Dress: A Masterwork by Velázquez from Vienna.
- Hear gallery talks every hour from 2:30 to 7:30 pm within Treasures from the House of Alba
