Afro-Mexican Celebration: A Shared Cultural Journey

Mercado369 will present a historic event celebrating Afro-Mexican culture during Black History Month. The performance will benefit After8toEducate and promote unity by honoring the art, history, and ancestry of the combined African and Mexican cultures.

Guests will be entertained by world-renowned singer, Alejandra Robles and spoken word poetry written by local youth and dances with Mexican and Afro-Mexican roots, accompanied by live music directed by Dallas world music phenom S-Ankh Rasa.

The event is a collaboration between The Black Academy of Arts and Letters, Big Thought, and Cara Mía.
