As a full-time artist, Misty Amber Moore is what some people call a renaissance woman. Her visual artwork, painting, assemblage, and illustrations are often inspired by travel, family, poetry, volunteerism, and a love for community.
A solo exhibit of Moore’s artwork will be held at Mighty Fine Arts Gallery. Collectors can enjoy both her literary work, as well as her visual art. There will be a performance art drenched fashion show with a DJ set by MicMost. Moore’s solo exhibit was curated by Suza Kanon.
Moore’s artwork transcends global boundaries and brings together creative people from around the world. Her use of colors is impactful and expressive. The deliberation that goes into the broad range of materials she creates with is thoughtful and often tactile. She has explored use of resins, UV reactive paints, repurposed/recycled materials, mixed media, and prismatic enamels, as well as more traditional use of acrylics and graphite.
This 2019 exhibit at MFA will show over 20 pieces from her most recent series. Images of Texas echo visuals inspired by Ethiopia. A loving illustration of Misty’s Texan daughter are shown alongside graphite renderings of her friend’s infant daughter in Africa. Tex-mex calaveras skulls face-off with bold African lions, who remind us to “Keep your chin up.”
The exhibit will be followed by a fashion show at 8 pm.
