Tony Tasset is an American artist who lives and works in Chicago, Illinois. Tasset's practice explores popular culture from both high and low sources. Americana and the history of American visual culture is a major influence in Tasset's recent bodies of work. The cultural iconography and folk art inspirations in Tasset's practice are approached in dialogue with minimalism, conceptual and modern art histories and aesthetics.
