The Oak Cliff Cultural Center will present Eastern Light: A Solo Exhibition by Abebe Zelelew, a collection of mixed-media works inspired by his life in Ethiopia. Eastern Light features a metamorphosis of raw materials depicting the choreographic gestures of the working men and women of Ethiopia. Zelelew’s work captures the essence of African culture and lifestyle through traditional African wood carving techniques and cubist painting on hardwood panels. The end result is a beautiful display of color, line, texture and shape, leaving a long-lasting impression of Ethiopian culture.

The exhibition will be on display January 24 to February 28, 2014.
