Bodies are a hot topic, both in the worlds of fine art and high fashion. The Goss-Michael Foundation and the Texas Fashion Collection at the University of North Texas present "On Bodies," an exploration of this subject through the permanent collections of both institutions.

Some of the most provocative voices in the art world today are shown in conversation with each other, exploring interpretations of the body across artistic disciplines. Noted British artists Tracey Emin and Damien Hirst, among others, are featured alongside contemporary high fashion by Jean Paul Gaultier, Todd Oldham, John Galliano, and other fashion designers. Curated by GMF Adjunct Curator PJ Heil and TFC Assistant Director Annette Becker, the selected works explore a variety of human experiences and how bodies play a role in our understanding of the world.

In addition to the exhibition, artist and stylist Ruben Burgess Jr., who creates under the name Sartorialnolift, has been commissioned to interpret the show’s thematic temper through drawing, paint and, collage. Based in Dallas, Burgess has previously shown at Level Gallery in Dallas.

Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through February 2.
