The Orchestra of New Spain will present its annual Baroque Christmas Concert, Christmas at Our Redeemer.

The Christmas program this year presents lively baroque cantatas, villancicos, and carols from Mexico, Bolivia, Cuba, and Spain. Some are seasonal favorites from other years, but ONS always seeks to introduce new works and composers.

Mexico is represented by Manuel de Zumaya, chapel master of Mexico City’s Cathedral and author of one of the first operas in the Americas, was known for a range of styles from Renaissance to Baroque.
