Dr. Ronald C. Jones and Dr. Robert N. McClelland, two of the physicians at Parkland Hospital who contributed to the treatment of President John F. Kennedy after he was shot, will share their memories in a special panel discussion, Parkland Hospital – Trauma Room One Reunion. WFAA news anchor John McCaa will moderate the discussion.
Dr. Jones was the chief surgery resident in Parkland’s emergency room the day of the assassination and worked on the resuscitation of the president. Dr. McClelland was an instructor in surgery at the hospital and also participated in President Kennedy’s treatment, as well as assisted in the surgery of Governor Connally. Ironically, both physicians were part of the surgical team that tried to save the life of accused assassin Lee Harvey Oswald less than 48 hours later.
