Former secret lovers in college, Laura and Beth went on to completely disparate lives – one got married and had children, the other moved to New York. Both pine for each other, but before they can reunite, they find themselves entangled in the web of Beebo Brinker, a butch denizen of the bars with a soft spot for young lesbians fresh off the bus.

This campy, quirky, sexy tale of desires and unfulfilled dreams also has some surprisingly poignant moments amongst an abundance of witty rhetoric.
