The best women bowlers in the world will head to Plano Super Bowl for the 2017 U.S. Women’s Open, a major bowling tournament on the Professional Women’s Bowling Association Tour.

In addition to the U.S. Women’s Open, the stepladder finals of three other PWBA Tour events will take place at Plano Super Bowl and will be taped for broadcast on CBS Sports Network. The finals of the PWBA Orlando Open, the PWBA St. Petersburg-Clearwater Open, and the Nationwide Rochester Open will be conducted on Sunday, Aug. 6, following the live broadcast of the U.S. Women’s Open.

The U.S. Women’s Open is the final event leading up to the Smithfield PWBA Tour Championship, so spots in the tour’s final major of the season will be on the line. Liz Johnson will seek to defend her U.S. Women’s Open title in Plano, after winning the event for the third consecutive time in 2016. She has won the event five times.
