Rich-Tone Chorus celebrates 50 years of music and memories. In 1968, when the national music scene was dominated by such artists as The Beatles, The Doors and The 5th Dimension, a group of 24 women formed a chorus in Richardson that had a different slant, four-part harmony with no instruments, traditionally known as “singing barbershop.”
As their next international competition approaches, the Rich-Tones will debut their contest repertoire in a one-night performance, Cheers to 50 Years. The show includes classic ballads, a touch of Dixieland and more contemporary hits from such artists as Justin Timberlake, Meghan Trainor, Basia and Bonnie Raitt.
