Daniel Hsu, 2017 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition Bronze Medalist, tackles the diabolical enigma of Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 2, a true heart racer that remains one of the most technically formidable piano concertos in the standard repertoire. The concert, which also features Mussorgsky's Introduction to Khovantschina, concludes with Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, a vivid orchestral work inspired by the tales of the Arabian Nights.
