Ro2 Art will present "Wondrous Creatures and the Prehistoric Circus," a solo exhibition featuring sculptures by artist Ariel Bowman. Bowman’s inaugural solo exhibition at Ro2 Art reimagines prehistoric creatures through distinct sculptures contrasted with 18th century aesthetics. The time period suggested in her work alludes to a chapter in history marked by an amplification in scientific discovery and the increasing disappearances of wild places.

Growing up playing in the forests by her childhood her home and fascinated by animals, Bowman fosters this childlike imagination and relationship with the animal world in her work through the use of unexpected timelines surrounding her mysterious giants. Reality is disarranged as these extinct creatures wander through overgrown remains of human greatness. Ariel Bowman’s sculptures entice the imagination of viewers through intricate and surprising details, awakening a sense of discovery.

Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on view through April 6.
