Ro2 Art presents “Elysian Aftertaste,” a solo exhibition featuring new works by artist, Nathan Porterfield. Porterfield uses accessible, common materials such as corrugated cardboard, zip ties, and broom bristles to explore the complex role of the individual in today’s culture. Porterfield refers to the abstracted characters in his work as “Units of Resistance,” while each unit is given the opportunity to express its perspectives, sensibilities, and convictions, it is also an active contributor to a system far greater than itself.
“Elysian Aftertaste” is an exhibition comprised of works that express personal individuality and a homogeneous spirit; an homage to those who have stood for change, and therein been the backbone of progress. Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on view through July 7.
