Ro2 will present "Tequila Sci Fi, "a solo exhibition featuring new works by artist Angel Cabrales. Cabrales combines science fiction iconography with contemporary immigration issues, drawing from inhumane and unjust actions committed at the border by the U.S. government. In "Tequila Sci-Fi," Cabrales alters the narrative of classical Mexpolitation movies, where Mexican life was typically portrayed alongside crime, drugs, and sex, to a focus on the dehumanization of migrants.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through January 13.
