Ro2 Art will present "Pink on the Inside," a solo exhibition featuring new mixed media works by Barbara Horlander. In her new installation, Horlander places an emphasis on the intimate workings of the female body, as it morphs and adapts to the inevitable effects of time.
Horlander’s current work reflects her interest in materials, building and exploring ideas of the body and its assorted maladies related to aging. Using deliberately chosen materials and techniques, she constructs objects with a nod to the handcrafted. Corporeal textures are revealed which titillate our senses, provoking a desire to touch. This exchange of time and unspoken conversation rouses a relationship between maker and beholder.
Following the opening recption, the show will run through May 20.
