In this body of work, Julon Pinkston departs from abstraction, using his unique process to describe elements of nature in bloom. Gesture gives way to organic forms in this newest series. Charles Clary continues to examine his relationship with the concept of death and the documentation of memory. The material contrast between Clary's ornate vintage frames and the vibrant delicacy of the folded paper directly represents the artist's desire to preserve life's more fragile and challenging moments with as much note as the traditionally celebrated moments.
