Director of the Roots, Jazz, and American Music Program at Booker T. Washington, drummer Terence Hobdy fronts his band for the first time at Sammons Jazz. Picking back up for another drums-driven hour is the Stockton Helbing Quintet, showing off tricks of the trade from Stockton’s experience playing for Maynard Ferguson and Doc Severinsen.
