SHUKUGA is a Japanese word meaning “celebration,” which is appropriate for this event. The Ann & Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum: The Samurai Collection will present a festival inspired by the summer exhibition, Warrior Crowns: Extraordinary Samurai Helmets. Visitors can make their own warrior helmet, create easy origami, go on a samurai scavenger hunt or design their own sketchbook using traditional bookbinding techniques. They can also write their wishes down on tanzaku decorations to hang on the wish tree.
