The Living History series links the past to the present through individuals who witnessed the assassination of President John F. Kennedy or other historic events of the 1960s. A Dallas-area pastor, the Rev. Bill McElvaney was involved in the 1960s desegregation of schools in Mesquite, Texas, and later participated in Vietnam War protests in Dealey Plaza.
