The Alliance in Reconstructive Surgery Foundation (AiRS), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing breast reconstruction after mastectomy to women who cannot afford the procedure, will hold an event in advance of Breast Reconstruction Awareness (BRA) Day event to promote education, awareness and access for women surrounding post-mastectomy breast reconstruction.

BRA Day occurs annually in October and is an initiative designed to promote education, awareness and access regarding post-mastectomy breast reconstruction. It is a collaborative effort between the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), The Plastic Surgery Foundation (ASAPS), plastic surgeons, breast centers, nurse navigators, corporate sponsors and breast cancer support groups.

With the 2014 theme of “Put on a BRAve Face,” the AiRS mid-day program will include speakers, face-painting and entertainment, culminating in the release of pink balloons.
