Southern Methodist University’s Program Council along with SMU Student Theatre (SMUST) will host its 1st annual 24 Hour Musical, Spring Awakening, at Meadows School of the Arts. Spring Awakening will involve 35 students from various majors and will be rehearsed and put together on the SMU campus in only 24 hours.

With music by Duncan Sheik and book and lyrics by Steven Sater, Spring Awakening is a Tony Award-winning rock musical based on the 1891 German play Spring’s Awakening by Frank Wedekind. Set in late-19th century Germany, this iconic 2006 musical tells the story of teenage self-discovery and budding sexuality as seen through the eyes of three teens.
