Steal Away, set in 1930s Chicago, evolves around five upstanding churchwomen who raise funds to send young Black women to college by holding bake sales. In spite of the Great Depression, they aspire to offer more scholarships to promising women in their community. What lengths will they go to in an effort to keep their noble venture alive - hold a church fundraiser, bake more pies, or rob a bank?
