Texas Ballet Theater, joined by the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, will once again to present The Sleeping Beauty, a classic fairytale about Princess Aurora, Prince Florimund, the evil fairy Carabosse and a one hundred-year Curse. Featuring music composed by Tchaikovsky, this piece is a beautiful retelling of the French version of the story by Charles Perrault.
After the evil fairy is overlooked to attend the christening of the infant Princess Aurora, she places a curse on the child; if the Princess pricks her finger on a spinning wheel, she will die. One of the other fairies at the christening is able to partially reverse the curse. If the Princess pricks her finger, she will fall asleep for 100 years and must wait for Prince to wake her.
