The Art Deco Society of Dallas and Dallas Heritage Village will present the Third Annual Jazz Age Sunday Social, the return of a great vintage-inspired event.
The Singapore Slingers and Razzmajazz Dixieland band will be performing traditional jazz for your listening and dancing pleasure. The sensational Drew Nugent will be joining from Philadelphia. Leader of Drew Nugent and the Midnight Society, Nugent is Philadelphia’s number one source for hot jazz music.
Bill Flynt and his steam calliope will welcoming crowds at the gates. Elaine Hewlett from the Rhythm Room will be teaching you the Charleston and other dances of the 1920s on their beautiful wooden dance floor. Amelia Fox Trot will be spinning 78 rpm records on vintage phonographs.
Dress in your finest whites and enjoy an afternoon unlike any other. Think vintage bathing beauties, walking whites, and parasols. Flappers and sheiks are welcome too.
The afternoon also features antique cars, vintage clothing, croquet, a photo booth, and vintage vendors including Ahoy! Cruises, Savannah Hoffman Designs, and Old Fashioned Sweet Shoppe. There will be a contest for best dressed with prizes from local businesses.
Everyone is encouraged to bring a picnic since this is a lawn party, after all. Pack a basket at home, or swing through a local market.
