SMU will host pianist Thomas Schwan, who will perform the entire Second Book of J. S. Bach's The Well-Tempered Clavier. Considered one of the most influential and seminal musical works ever written, and containing music of incomparable beauty, complexity, and spiritual density, The Well-Tempered Clavier is also referred to as the "Old Testament" of Western music.
