The University of North Texas' Special Collections is opening its archives to feature some of their spookiest items in a virtual event.
To help viewers get in the Halloween spirit, Gettin’ Spooky with Special Collections will offer a look at some of the collection’s most spine-tingling items, such as a Mildred the hamster’s skull from the Byrd Williams Family Photography Collection, and the legend of the Tennessean Wyooter from photographer and storyteller Joe Clark’s collection. UNT Libraries Public Services Librarian Meagan May will give the show-and-tell of items from the UNT collection and answer questions from viewers.
For the event, UNT Libraries is collaborating with Special Collections from other universities, including Southern Methodist University, Texas A&M University, Texas Christian University, University of Texas at El Paso, and University of Texas at San Antonio, who will also be sharing items from their collections via Zoom.
