Uptown Players will close its 2013 season with Paul Rudnick’s hysterical comedy, The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told. Rudnick presents a world that begins with Adam and Steve…and Jane and Mabel. He follows their lives through time as they move from Creation to the first brunch. They experience the Flood, visit Pharaoh’s Egypt and attend the Nativity. Their lives move to the present where they experience the wonders and pains of relationships. Though the episodes are brief — and funny — each revisits the fundamental questions of humanity. Reminiscent of medieval Passion plays where popular characters were inserted into Bible stories to entertain while teaching, the lessons here are tolerance and understanding, taught with loads of laughter and fun.
