The USA Film Festival and the Texas Association of Film & Tape Professionals will present TexFest, a community showcase screening series featuring works by Texas filmmakers.
This installment will honor three great ladies of the Dallas performing arts community - Irma P. Hall, Gail Cronauer and Juli Erickson - and will salute two local filmmakers, Matthew Stephen Tompkins and Jon Keeyes, whose successful collaborations and individual projects have spanned over twenty years.
Jon Keeyes and Matthew Stephen Tompkins will start the evening at 7 pm with the feature film Nightmare Box, a dark thriller about a woman who wakes up in a strange room with no idea who she is, where she is, or how she got there, preceded by the short film The Mechanical Grave, a Victorian-era steampunk thriller.
Irma P. Hall will appear with the feature film Hiding in Plain Sight at 7:30 pm, which features an all-Texas cast and revolves around the story of a family who has lost their livelihood, forcing them to live on the streets.
Both Gail Cronauer, in Dixie Lee Sedgwick's Sparrow, and Juli Erickson, in Drew Rist's Jasper, will appear with the Texas Shorts compilation program at 8 pm. The shorts showcase will also feature Justin Malone's Blue and Dewey Taylor's Quiet.
