The USA Film Festival will present the new documentary Kingdom of Shadows as part of their year-round outreach programs.  The program will feature director and producer Bernardo Ruiz in attendance to present the film and talk with the audience after the screening. The program will be moderated by journalist and author Alfredo Corchado.

In his fascinating new film, Ruiz takes an unflinching look at the hard choices and destructive consequences of the US-Mexico drug war weaving together the stories of a U.S. drug enforcement agent on the border, an activist nun in violence-scarred Monterrey, Mexico, and a former Texas smuggler to reveal the human side of an often misunderstood conflict that has resulted in a growing human-rights crisis that has only recently made international headlines.
