Heal the Divide On and Off Campus, presented by The University of Texas at Arlington’s Department of Theatre Arts, is comprised of original one-act plays written and performed by students from the Department of Theatre Arts. The pieces focus on topics that directly concern and impact the Millennial and Gen Z generations, such as diversity in politics, colorism, racism, and the LGBTQ+ community, among others.

The project is presented in conjunction with colleges and universities across the U.S. that wish to begin conversations about issues concerning their community through the lens of the student playwright. A key to the event is to get local with the material and to share insight into each community’s current issues of concern.

This year’s writers include current students Shun’drea Burnett, Andrew Denton, Ashlyn DeHate, Madeline Estrada, Analisa Salinas, Emily Truelove, and alumni Straton Rushing, with performances by Remi Caruso, Caleb De La Torre, Chyna Dillard, Reginald Dunlap, Fatima Flores, Caitlin Ferguson, Victoria Gomez, Alysha Gonzalez, Alexandra Johnson, William Tanner Mobley, Mahdiyyah Muhammad, Stacy Okafor, Grace Simmons, Lindsey Sinopoli, and Ashley Tysor.

The production will be streamed via Video On Demand. It will be available to stream anytime between October 9 and 11.
