Award-winning New York composer Harold Meltzer comes to Dallas to share his ideas on his new Piano Quartet, which premiered last year in Boston. This will be a first performance of Meltzer’s work for Voices of Change. There will also be a pre-concert discussion with the composer, hosted by Big Thought’s LeAnn Binford.
Selections for the concert include Bohuslav Martinů’s “String Trio #2” (violin, viola,cello), Carl Nielson’s “Wind Quintet, op. 43” (flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, bassoon), Osvaldo Golijov’s “Mariel” (cello, marimba) and Harold Meltzer’s “Piano Quartet” (violin, viola, cello, piano).
