Voices of Change wraps up its 41st season with a distinctive concert featuring composer David Dzubay and SMU’s student new music ensemble SYZYGY.

Dzubay, composition faculty at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, returns to the Dallas spotlight with two works on the program: All water has a perfect memory, a Voices of Change commission from 2007, will find itself programmed alongside the more recent Producing for a While. Voices of Change has also undertaken an archival project to record these two works on the Innova label later this year.

SYZYGY will join Voices of Change on the stage in presenting Andrew Norman’s energetic Gran Turismo for eight violins. The final pieces on the program include Penderecki’s String Trio and Takemitsu’s Toward the Sea. Margaret Barrett, composer and former Director of Voices of Change will give a pre-concert talk with Dr. Dzubay beginning at 2 pm.
