WAAS Gallery will present an exhibit of new works titled Acid Rain by visual artist and painter Caroline Oliver. Oliver's abstract oil paintings consider neutral and neon color relationships and are filled with vertical and horizontal lines and drips of paint. These lines and drips are reminiscent of one of Oliver's absolute favorite things in life: rain. The crisp lines and dripped paint give soft blurs of color a defined, sharp edge to draw the viewer in.
Oliver's artistic output to date has been concerned with blending femininity with eeriness. Creating art has always been her natural bent and she feels most fully expressed when painting. The artist pursued multiple career avenues that require an artistic eye but each ultimately brought her back to painting. After gaining a BFA with an emphasis in oil painting from Pepperdine University in 2008, she consistently and tirelessly worked to develop her skills through multiple solo shows and regular commissions.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through October 31.
