Best-selling espionage writer Jason Matthews, who spent more than three decades in clandestine operations for the CIA, returns to Dallas for a World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth program titled Out of the Secrecy, Into the Novel.
Matthews' latest book is Palace of Treason, a spy thriller set in modern-day Moscow that features the popular characters introduced in his 2013 best-seller, Red Sparrow. Palace of Treason follows the love affair of Russian agent Dominika Egorova and her CIA handler, Nate Nash, as they attempt to avoid death at the hands of "the oligarchs, crooks and thugs of Putin’s Russia."
Matthews has used his CIA experience to build the foundation for his successful literary career, giving his books a sense of authenticity while he employs a writing style universally praised by critics.
The Council event, open to the public, begins with a reception followed by a program and book signing
