WaterTower Theatre will present a free screening of Robert L. Camina’s powerful documentary, Raid of the Rainbow Lounge.

In February 2017, WaterTower Theatre announced its upcoming production of Ike Holter’s Hit the Wall. This groundbreaking play about the 1969 Stonewall uprising carries many similarities to the very tragic event that occurred a little closer to home as the Rainbow Lounge, a Fort Worth gay bar, was subject to a surprise raid in the early morning hours of June 28, 2009 (the 40th Anniversary of the raid on Stonewall). The aftermath following the infamous raid of the Rainbow Lounge was artfully documented by film maker Robert L. Camina in his 2012 film, Raid of the Rainbow Lounge.

Immediately following the free screening, there will be a talk back discussion and Q&A with filmmaker Robert L. Camina, Hit the Wall director Joanie Schultz, and members of the cast of Hit the Wall.
