As part of The Wild Detectives broad search of those music genres widely known but not always properly exposed, our backyard will turn into a Latin Jazz Venue, celebrating this unique music expression in different ways.
The night will feature live music by Christian Valdés Quintet. Valdés comes from a family of renowned musicians of the Colombian salsa scene, in which he already stood up as a pianist before turning 19. He leads the Christian Valdés Quintet, one of the best jazz combos at UNT in Denton, a five-piece band revisiting some of the most exciting Latin Jazz compositions and other less known works.
Following the live muse, there will be a special screening of Calle 54, a documentary featuring some of the greatest artists of our time: Tito Puente, Chucho Valdés, Bebo Valdés, Michel Camilo, Chano Domínguez, Eliane Elias, or Jerry González.
