The Women’s Council of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden will present Treasured Legacies, the 8th annual “A Writer’s Garden” Literary Symposium and Luncheon.

Vivid portraits of two of the most widely read and beloved writers in literature and compelling personal stories exploring our gardening heritage will be featured in “Treasured Legacies” presented by:

  • Kim Wilson, noted author and international speaker, whose new book At Home with Jane Austen was released on September 30, 2014.
  • Kelsey Mullin, author of The Mount: Edith Wharton’s Home, will discuss the transformational effects of Wharton’s magnificent home and gardens on her success as a writer. Wharton was the first woman to receive the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for The Age of Innocence.
  • Greg Grant and William Welch, Co-Authors of Heirloom Gardening of the South, a captivating, personal encounter with two dedicated and passionate gardeners whose love of heritage gardening infuses their book’s narrative from beginning to end.

Funds raised from the A Writer’s Garden will benefit A Woman’s Garden. The event will be held in Rosine Hall.
