WordSpace will present the distinguished Mexican poet, Natalia Toledo Paz. Toledo Paz lives in Juchitán, Oaxaca, Mexico, and publishes in both Spanish and Zapotec, the native language indigenous to the area. The poet has won many fellowships and awards including the Nezahualcóyotl Award, the only national award in Mexico to honor work in indigenous languages.
The event will be a tri-lingual evening, with both live Spanish translations and English translations provided via projected titles. Toledo Paz will also perform music from the Oaxaca region. The evening will be hosted by Dallas artist Sara Cardona.
