As a part of Worldfest: Spotlight China, the Town of Addison will be showcasing dozens of pairs of Traditional Chinese Cloth Shoes in a public exhibition at its Visit Addison Gallery.  This free exhibition celebrates the culture of cotton shoes in China. The shoes are on loan through the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Houston from the Bubusheng Museum in Yichang, near the Three Gorges Dam on the Yangtze River.  The museum’s collection is one of the largest and most impactful protectors of this part of Chinese culture.

The curated exhibit in Addison represents key features in the Bubusheng Museum’s expansive collection of over 1,000 pairs of Chinese cloth shoes.  The selected footwear was chosen for its representation of unique themes including:  love, traditional regions, suffering and a return to nature.
