Exciting New York art & design fair will come to Dallas for first time

Salon Art + Design coming to Dallas.
Dallas will be home to the very first road show version of the New York-based Salon Art + Design fair, the premier collectible design and art fair and art scene fixture founded in 2012.
The fair, featuring exhibitors from Europe as well as the U.S., will land in Dallas in March 2025 at the Block House, the former Masonic Temple in the East Quarter district in downtown Dallas.
The original in New York is traditionally held at Park Avenue Armory, drawing collectors and the curious. The curation process for Dallas is taking place now, as the Salon creates an exhibitor list with up to 40 booths.
Bringing the fair to Dallas was an easy choice, said Nicky Dessources, Salon Art + Design’s executive director.
“I fell in love with Dallas the first time I visited, and the team is very excited at being able to produce something outside the armory,” Dessources says.
Attendees who have hit the New York version may see a difference in the exhibitors, as Dallas puts its own imprint on the event. The Block House alone, built in 1941 with its old-school appeal fully intact, lends itself to a unique flavor.
“We’re looking into a little more fine art than in New York,” Dessources says. “It won’t be as contemporary…[with] more vintage but a strong balance. We will have jewelry, as in New York, and there are some local designers that I would like to incorporate. Having the community involved in Dallas is going to set the tone to make it different.”
She anticipates that the fair will draw from its roster of exhibitors from France, Germany, and other parts of Europe. “I think the balance will be the same European and domestic exhibitors and also some galleries from the Dallas area and Texas," she says.
Design on display will include furniture, ceramics, art, studio and studio glass. Exhibitors are encouraged to develop displays that showcase today’s interior design decoration as well as unique presentation for art.
A full list of exhibitors special Installations and event details will be released as the fair, which runs March 26-30, nears.
The dates are close to the Dallas Art Fair on April 11-13, which was part of the attraction that drew Salon Art + Design.
While The New York event will not tap the same gallery exhibitor crowd, Dallas Art Fair executive director Kelly Cornell saysa that she believes collectors may try to come to both.
“It’s exciting to have Salon coming to Dallas,” Cornell said. “The market is growing and all of it drives awareness."
