Revered Dallas foundation sweeps Charity Challenge 2017
The votes have been cast and tallied, and we have a winner in our 2017 CultureMap Charity Challenge. With a sweeping victory of 45 percent of the more than 8,000 votes, this year’s winner is the Yellow Rose Gala Foundation.
The nonprofit was selected from among 12 young professional groups making an impact in the Dallas community. Nominees included Dallas Autumn Ball, Dallas CASA Young Professionals, Dallas Junior Chamber of Commerce, Dallas Museum of Art Junior Associates, Flight, Heart of Dallas Young Professionals, KT Trailblazers, Lee Park Junior Conservancy, the One Society, Rhapsody in Red, and Young Friends of Ronald McDonald House of Dallas — all of whom were vying for a CultureMap advertising package valued at $10,000, and bragging rights as CultureMap’s 2017 charity partner, which, of course, is priceless.
The Yellow Rose Gala Foundation, founded by Dee and Jimmy Wynne, works to advance research to treat, cure, and ultimately eliminate multiple sclerosis. In 1985, Dee was diagnosed with MS and she made it her mission to fight the disease. After her death in 2014, Dee’s children decided to continue her legacy through the relaunch of the highly anticipated Yellow Rose Gala and its partnership with the National MS Society.
