Monday Night Mammos
Dallas hospital gives women's yearly health test a spa-like makeover
Like most medical tests, getting a mammogram may not be pleasant but it is important. Methodist Health System is out to make this life-saving procedure much more enjoyable — dare we even say, fun? — through its Monday Night Mammos program, which has given thousands of women a new perspective on taking care of their bodies.
Monday Night Mammos brings a spa-like experience to Methodist Dallas Medical Center, with plenty of goodies and rewards to make having this annual test something you might even look forward to.
The royal treatment starts with free valet parking, then light refreshments in the waiting room (think fresh fruit skewers, iced tea and fruit punch, and chocolates). After meeting with a nurse, you'll be lead to a private dressing room where you can slip into a robe and relax even further while watching your favorite TV show.
After registering, you'll be led to a private dressing room where you can slip into a robe and relax even further while enjoying pink M&Ms.
Results of your mammogram are provided within 24 hours, and nurse navigation services are available to those with identified breast problems.
Who should be getting a yearly mammogram? The National Comprehensive Cancer Network recommends yearly mammography beginning at age 40, but if you have a family history of breast cancer you may need to start screening sooner. Check with your doctor to determine when would be a good time to start.
Monday Night Mammos are held at least once a month at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. Head here to check the schedule and make an appointment.
