DIFFA/Dallas shows how fabulous fundraising can be for crucial mission
When it first emerged, HIV/AIDS was a death sentence. Not only did patients face a tough road medically, but there were also very few resources available to family members of those diagnosed.
Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) was founded for this very purpose: to provide support for people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, using the design community as a means for spreading awareness. DIFFA works alongside organizations that offer preventive education programs and direct care and treatment to people who are living with or impacted by the disease.
The House of DIFFA fashion extravaganza, the Holiday Wreath Collection, and the celebrity chef-driven Burgers & Burgundy are just a few of the fundraising events throughout the year that enable the Dallas chapter to award grants to local frontline HIV/AIDS care organizations.
DIFFA/Dallas has been able to give more than $7 million to more than 25 HIV/AIDS service organizations in North Texas.
