These Dallas spots are hosting big voting drive if you need to register
On September 20, a nonprofit is joining a Texas-wide initiative to get new voters on the rolls.
Move Texas, a nonpartisan grass-roots group, will host more than 60 voter registration drives in cities across the state, as part of National Voter Registration Day.
National Voter Registration Day is an annual civic holiday celebrated on the fourth Tuesday of September, when volunteers and organizations hit the streets in a single day of coordinated field, technology, and media efforts to educate and register voters.
MOVE Texas was founded in 2013 by students at the University of Texas at San Antonio to increase participation in local elections. It has since gone statewide to become one of the most effective voter registration and engagement groups in Texas. They work to build power in underrepresented youth communities through civic engagement, leadership development, and issue advocacy.
In Austin, MOVE has two partners: Pizza to the Polls and Levi Strauss & Co who will participate with food trucks and sponsored events.
