Popular medical cannabis supplier Texas Original continues its expansion through Dallas-Fort Worth with the opening of its first-ever permanent pickup location in Hurst.

Texas Original's new shop opened August 9 at 760 Airport Fwy. #300 D. The shop provides its full range of medical cannabis products to patients through the Texas Compassionate Use Program (CUP).

“Patients deserve safe and reasonable access to medical cannabis, and we’re excited to bring that to our neighbors in the Dallas-Fort Worth area,” says Texas Original CEO Nico Richardson in a release. “Delivering life-changing medicine to every Texan who needs it is our North Star."

The new shop follows a recent opening of another location in Arlington in June. The medical cannabis company operates the largest distribution network in Texas, with four additional pickup locations throughout DFW: North Dallas, Frisco, Fort Worth, and Addison. Texas Original also offers a delivery service to bring prescriptions to patients.

The new Hurst shop provides the most convenient location for most customers in the growing northeast Tarrant County corridor, including those in Colleyville, Bedford, Euless, Grapevine, and Southlake.

"Since opening the state’s first medical cannabis dispensary in 2018, we’ve committed to making high-quality, Texas-grown medicine more accessible across the state,” Richardson says.

According to their website, Texas Original's hope is to change Texans' perspective on marijuana through "the power and the truth of medical cannabis."

Conditions that are treated with medical cannabis include many neurodegenerative disorders, neuropathy, PTSD, and epilepsy. Texans with one of these conditions can get a prescription through their physician or an online clinic that is registered with the Compassionate Use Registry of Texas.

Pickups in Hurst can be scheduled weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10 am and 4:30 pm. Texas Original has future plans to expand its operating hours to six days a week.

More information about Texas Original and its newest Hurst location can be found on their website.
